Texas A&M won for the ninth time in 10 games as they managed to hold off Vanderbilt in their previous game at home Saturday night. The Aggies improved to 15-6 overall and stand tied for second in the conference with a 7-1 record, leaving them one game behind Alabama for the top spot. Against Vanderbilt, Texas A&M led 11-4 early, trailed 29-20 with under six minutes to play in the first half and was down 34-30 at the half. The Aggies used a 12-0 run midway through the second half to go up 64-51 with 8:29 remaining before seeing Vanderbilt rally. Texas A&M gave up a 15-2 run to trail 66-65 with 2:59 to play before regrouping by scoring the game’s final seven points to earn the win. The Aggies shot 44.9% from the field, including five of 19 from three-point range, and won the game at the charity stripe despite their struggles there. Vanderbilt was eight of 11 at the while Texas A&M hit 23 of 36 attempts. Henry Coleman II I led the Aggies with 18 points and six rebounds in the win.
