In his two NFL seasons, DeAndre Swift has shown the ability to be a top five fantasy football PPR running back. His pass catching skills out of the backfield are among the league's elite. But durability has been an issue for Swift thus far having missed seven of a potential 33 regular season games already in his career.
The Lions have been a dreadful football team in Swift's first two seasons having won only five games that he's played in. Detroit had to play from behind often, and mo stly without a dynamic receiving core which benefitted Swift via catches out of the backfield.
In his short career, the former Georgia Bulldog has averaged 44 yards rushing and 31 yards receiving per game. He's also averaged four catches per game and has found the end zone 17 times.
Fortunately, things look to be trending upward offensively for the Lions in 2022. Having added WRs D.J. Chark and 1st round rookie Jameson Williams to last year's late-season gem Amon-Ra St. Brown and the reliable TE T.J. Hockenson, Detroit seems highly likely to improve upon their 19 points per game in 2021.
