German was just called up to the Yankees in late July due to injuries and is 1-2 in 5 starts with an ERA of 4.18. After a terrible July, where he ended with an ERA of 8.22, he has settled in with an ERA of 2.25 in the month of August. However, all offense has been abandoned in the Bronx, as the Yankees rank in the bottom 5 in most major offensive stats in the last 15 days. Nothing about how the Yankees are playing right now should give you confidence in them, so for that reason, backing the Rays to win will be the play.
