TCU at Mississippi State Prediction – Basketball Picks 1/28/23

The TCU Horned Frogs will head to Starkville and face the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the Big 12/SEC Challenge from the Humphrey Coliseum on ESPN2. TCU leads the head-to-head series, 3-1, after winning a pair of meetings back in 2013 and 2014.

TCU improved to 16-4 after beating Oklahoma in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs picked up another imposing victory after outscoring the Sooners by double figures in each half, handing them their biggest loss of the season, 79-52. TCU is scoring 77.7 points per game, while allowing 64.3 ppg, and shooting 46.4% from the field.

TCU has quietly turned into the neighborhood bully after two intimidating wins over Kansas and Oklahoma, and they might have a ball in Stark Vegas this weekend. Mike Miles Jr. leads the charge for Jamie Dixon’s squad for the third season in a row. The 6’2 guard went for a game-high 23 points in the win over OU, and he’s averaging a personal-best 19.1 ppg. Former A&M forward Emanuel Miller leads the team in rebounding (6.5), while scoring 13.5 ppg. Senior guard Damion Baugh averages a nice line of 12.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, and 5.1 apg. Forward Eddie Lumpkin Jr. (7.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg) and Chuck O’Bannon Jr. (7.7 ppg, 1.1 bpg) bring noticeable length and toughness to the lineup.
