The Vanderbilt Commodores are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Texas A&M Aggies Saturday night. Vanderbilt was beaten 69-53 at home by Kentucky in their previous game Tuesday night, failing to cover the line as a six-point underdog. Texas A&M upset #15 Auburn 79-63 on the road in their previous game Wednesday night, winning outright as a 3.5-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, Vanderbilt owns a 10-6 edge and has won the last two meetings. That includes a 72-67 home win in the most recent matchup on February 19, 2022.

Vanderbilt was unable to upend Kentucky at home as they were beaten by double digits in their previous contest. The Commodores fell to 10-10 on the season and stand tied for eighth in the conference with a 3-4 record. Against Kentucky, Vanderbilt was within two with 2:40 to play in the first half before things unraveled. The Commodores gave up a 19-2 run spanning both halves to trail 48-30 with 15:46 to play and never narrowed the margin below 11 the rest of the way. Vanderbilt shot just 32.7% from the field, including six of 17 from three-point range, lost the rebounding battle 37-24 and allowed Kentucky to shoot 56.4% in the game. Malik Dia led the way for the team with 14 points in the loss.

On the season, the Commodores rack up an average of 72.2 points per game so far this season, which is 168th in the nation. Vanderbilt pulls down 37.1 rebounds a night while dishing out an average o f 11.9 assists per contest.
