Manhattan at Niagara Prediction – Basketball Picks 1/27/23

The Manhattan Jaspers will head Upstate and face the Niagara Purple Eagles in Metro League play from the Gallagher Center on ESPN+. Manhattan leads the all-time series, 43-30, after winning eight of the last ten meetings.

Manhattan dropped to 6-12 after losing to Rider in Jersey. The Jaspers crossed the water, and nearly came back with a win over the Broncs, but after trading leads throughout the contest, they’d come up just two points short. Manhattan is scoring 68.3 points per game, while allowing 71.7 ppg and shooting 43.8% from the field.

Manhattan’s off to a 4-5 start in Metro League play, and they’ll look to avoid a third straight loss here. The Jaspers defeated Niagara in the Bronx two weeks ago, but it remains to be seen how they fare in Upstate NY this Friday. Third-year starter Anthony Nelson leads the charge for Manhattan, and after scoring 20 points or more in three of the last six games, he’s up to 14.8 ppg and a team-lead 4.5 apg. Senior forward Josh Roberts has double-doubled in four of the last six games, and he’s averaging 12.3 ppg and a team-lead 9.3 rpg.
