A pair of programs from the Mountain West take to the floor in the Silver State looking to earn a win. The New Mexico Lobos are on the road as they travel to take on the Nevada Wolf Pack Monday night. New Mexico comes in off an 81-79 overtime home win over Boise State in their previous contest Friday night, failing to cover the line as a 2.5-point favorite. Nevada was dropped 77-62 on the road by Boise State in their most recent game Tuesday night, failing to cover as a six-point underdog in the contest. In the all-time series between the teams, the Wolf Pack own a 12-7 advantage and have won seven straight meetings, including a 79-72 win in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament in the most recent meeting on March 9, 2022.

New Mexico won their fourth straight game as they managed to slip past Boise State at home Friday night in their previous contest. The Lobos improved to 18-2 overall on the season and stand tied for second in the Mountain West with a 5-2 conference record. Against Boise State, New Mexico trailed by as many as eight in the first half and by six at halftime. The Lobos led by as many as five in the second half only to see the Broncos rally to force overtime. In the extra session, New Mexico led by five with 2:11 to play only to see Boise State rally to tie the game. Morris Udeze hit the game-winning layup with two seconds remaining to earn the win for the Lobos. New Mexico shot 47.1% from the field, including six of 13 from three-point range, and held Boise State to 44.7% shooting in the game. Jamal Mashburn Jr. led the Lobos with 25 points and seven rebounds in the win.

For the season, New Mexico stan ds 16th in the nation in scoring offense with an average of 81.9 points per game. The Lobos are collecting an average of 39.5 rebounds a night while dishing out an average of 14.7 dimes per contest. New Mexico has been average on the defensive end of the floor as the team stands 188th in Division I in scoring defense by allowing 69.5 points a night. Jamal Mashburn Jr. leads the team with 18.6 points per game on the year. Jaelen House (17.4 points, 4.6 assists) is one of two other players averaging in double figures this season. Coach Richard Pitino looks to get production from Morris Udeze (15.7 points, 8.5 rebounds), Josiah Allick, KJ Jenkins, Donovan Dent, Javonte Johnson Sebastian Forsling and Birima Seck in his rotation. New Mexico shoots 48.6% from the floor as a team this season. The Lobos knock down an average of 5.7 three-pointers a night while shooting 34.8% from beyond the arc as a team.
