Temple at Houston Prediction – Basketball Picks 1/22/23

The Temple Owls will head to Texas to take on the Houston Cougars in AAC play from the Fertitta Center on ESPN. Houston and Temple have faced off 15 times, with the Cougars holding a series of, 12-3.

Temple moved to 11-9 after beating East Carolina in Philly. The Owls trailed ECU at the break, but a strong second half would lead them to a 15-point victory.  Temple is scoring 69.3 points per game, while allowing 68.3 ppg, and shooting 42.2% from the floor.

Temple has traded their last five games, and there’s a high chance that trend carries on here too. The Owls style of play clash with the Houston defense negatively, and they could be in for a long night. Aaron McKie’s team is led by the tandem Khalif Battle and Damian Dunn. Battle responded to a poor showing versus Memphis with 20 points against the Pirates to bring his scoring total to a team-leading 17.2 ppg. Dunn led the team with 22 points for the second straight game, and he’s up to 15.2 ppg.
