Colorado State Rams (10-10) vs. Wyoming Cowboys (5-13)
The 2022-23 NCAA men’s basketball season goes on Saturday, January 21, with the Colorado State Rams taking on the Wyoming Cowboys in the Mountain West Conference showdown at Arena Auditorium in Laramie, Wyoming.
After splitting their two-game set in 2021-22, the Rams and Cowboys lock horns for the first time this season. The tip-off is set for 4:00 PM ET, and the Rams open as slight 1-point road underdogs with a total of 146.5 points.
Each of CSU’s last three games went to overtime, as the Rams sandwiched an 82-81 victory at UNLV with a couple of home losses against Air Force 85-74 and San Diego State 82-76. Last Wednesday, the Rams blew a nine-point second-half lead versus the Aztecs and failed to cover a 4.5-point spread, allowing 17 points in overtime.
Colorado State allowed 14 offensive rebounds to the Aztecs, who missed eight of their 25 attempts from the free-throw line. The Rams shot 45.6% from the field (11-for-29 from deep) and 86.7% from the charity stripe (13-for-15) while posting a 19/14 assist-to-turnover ratio. Sophomore guard Jalen Lake led CSU with 17 points (5-for-7 from deep), while senior guard Isaiah Stevens went just 6-for-17 from the field, finishing with a line of 16 points, 11 assists, two steals, and a block.

Isaiah Stevens is having a nice season, averaging 18.6 points and 6.6 assists through 13 appearances. Junior forward Patrick Cartier is tallying 13.1 points on 40.9% shooting from deep, while senior guard John Tonje is adding 13.3 points and 4.9 rebounds a night. The Rams (10-10; 2-5 conf.) rank 53rd in the country in adjusted offensive efficiency (111.1 points per 100 possessions) and 218th in adjusted defensive efficiency (105.7). They are No. 113 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 108 in the KenPom rankings.
