Texas was dropped 78-67 on the road by #12 Iowa State in their previous game Tuesday night, failing to cover as a 2.5-point underdog. West Virginia knocked off #14 TCU 74-65 at home in their previous game, covering the line as a 2.5-point favorite Wednesday night. In the all-time series between the schools, the Longhorns own a 15-10 advantage and won the last two meetings, including an 82-81 overtime road win in the most recent matchup on February 26, 2022.

Texas had won three straight and nine of their previous 10 games as they were knocked off on the road by #12 Iowa State in their previous contest. The Longhorns dropped to 15-3 overall and stand fourth in the Big 12 with a 4-2 conference record on the year. Against Iowa State, Texas led by as many as 11 in the first half only to find themselves down 36-35 at intermission. Texas led 51-49 with 11:44 to play before giving up a 16-6 run to go down 65-55 with 4:23 remaining. The Longhorns didn’t get closer than seven the rest of the way in the contest to wind up with the loss. Texas shot 45.8% from the field, including four of 17 from three-point range, and lost the rebounding battle 32-25. Christian Bishop led Texas with 12 points and five rebounds in the loss.

On the season, Texas has put up an average of 80.7 points per contest, putting them 25th in the nation in scoring offense on the year. The Longhorns are pulling down an average of 36.1 rebounds per game while dishing out an average of 16.7 assists (18th) per contest. Texas is giving up an average of 66.7 points per game this season, leaving them 109th in the nation in scoring defense.
