The Dayton Flyers are on the road as they make the trip to take on the George Washington Colonials Saturday afternoon. Dayton took down Davidson 68-61 at home in their previous contest Tuesday night, though they failed to cover the line as an 11-point favorite. George Washington was on the road and took down George Mason 78-75 in their previous contest Monday night, winning outright as an eight-point underdog. In the all-time series between the schools, the Flyers own a 22-18 advantage and have won the last six meetings. That includes an 80-54 home win in the most recent matchup on February 12, 2022.

Dayton bounced back from a one-point loss to VCU as they took down Davidson at home Tuesday night, even though they failed to cover the line. The Flyers improved to 13-6 overall and stand tied for first in the conference with a 5-1 mark, leaving them level with Saint Louis and VCU. Against Davidson, Dayton trailed by as many as seven in the first half and by three at halftime. The Flyers trailed 34-31 with 19:02 to play before reeling off 13 unanswered points that gave them a 44-34 lead with 15:23 remaining. Dayton didn’t let the lead drop below four the rest of the way en route to the win. The Flyers shot 54.3% from the field, including six of 14 from three-point range, and held Davidson to 40.6% shooting in the game. Mustapha Amzil led Dayton with 19 points in the victory.

The Flyers come into this contest putting up 68.2 points per game, which is 274th in the nation, on the seas on. Dayton pulls down 38.2 rebounds per contest and hands out 14.6 assists per game on the year. The Flyers are a stellar 9th in scoring defense as they give up an average of 58.7 points per game. DaRon Holmes II leads the team with 18.6 points plus eight rebounds a night this season. Mustapha Amzil (10.7 points, five boards) and Kobe Elvis (10.1 points, four boards, three assists) are good secondary scoring options.
