The Toronto Maple Leafs face the Montreal Canadiens with both teams heading in opposite directions this season. The Maple Leafs have a 28-11-7 record and are in second place in the Atlantic Division while the Canadiens have a 19-24-3 record and are in last place in the division. Both teams look to improve in the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Maple Leafs are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.39 goals per game with nine goals in the last two games. Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and William Nylander have scored 65 goals and 92 assists to lead the top two lines but the entire offense has stepped up. John Tavares, Michael Bunting, and Calle Jarnkrok have combined for 43 goals and 56 assists while defensemen Morgan Rielly and Rasmus Sandin have added three goals and 33 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has also stepped up, allowing only 2.63 goals per game. Mark Giordano and Timothy Liljegren have combined for 5.8 defensive point shares and 140 blocked shots while Rasmus Sandin and Justin Holl have combined for 4.6 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit.
