The Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers will head up to Albany and face the Siena Saints in Metro League play from the MVP Arena on ESPN+. Siena has won the only two previous meetings back in 2010-11.
Mount St. Mary’s is 6-12 after losing to Quinnipiac at home. The Mountaineers couldn’t hold off a late rally from the Bobcats and lost by seven points. MSM scores 62.5 points per game, while allowing 64.3 ppg, and shooting 41.1% from the field.
Mount St. Mary’s inaugural season in the MAAC has gotten off to a rough start, and things may get even tougher here with the first-placed Saints. Jalen Benjamin leads the team in scoring again this season at 14.3 ppg, but he left the Manhattan game early, and his status for this Friday is still in the air. Junior guard Dakota Leffew stepped up with 18 points in his absence versus Quinnipiac, and he’s second on the team at 13.5 ppg. Fifth-year forward Malik Jefferson leads MSM in rebounding (6.9), while scoring 9.7 ppg.
