The Iona Gaels will travel through the Bronx and face the Manhattan Jaspers in Metro League play from the Draddy Gymnasium on ESPN+. Iona leads the all-time series 59-43, but the school’s have split the matchups in each of the past three seasons.
Iona dropped to 12-6 after losing to Rider at home. The Gaels blew a double digit halftime lead, and ended up falling to Broncs by three points. Iona scores 76.1 points per game, while allowing 66.9 ppg, and shooting 45.9% from the field.
Iona’s off to a 5-2 start in conference play, and with a clash with first-placed Siena on the horizon, they’ll look to tune up here in the Bronx. Former Pacific guard Dariss Jenkins posted a 23-point double-double in the win over Marist, and he leads the Gaels in scoring (16.4) and assists (4.7). Third-year starter Nelly Junior Joseph has been a force in the front court, recording six straight double-doubles, and leading Iona in rebounding (8.6), while scoring 15.6 ppg.
