MLB Gas Can Alert For Tuesday, August 16
Target these offenses against bad pitching
By Matthew Horner – Aug 16, 2022, 12:20am
Philadelphia Phillies vs. T.J. Zeuch (13.50 ERA), Cincinnati Reds
Okay, so this number ballooned after only 4.0 innings of work for Zeuch, but those four innings are every reason to target him on Tuesday. The Phillies went on a bit of a run here recently, but even so, it wasn't enough to get close to the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves in th e NL East standings. They have a talented lineup, and they should be able to get to Zeuch fairly quickly and force him out. In his last start, he took the loss after giving up six earned runs on six hits and two walks over 4.0 innings. It was a total disaster, and he really shouldn't be starting in the big leagues. This will mark his second start, but that is only because the Reds don't have anyone else that can take his spot in the rotation at this point. It certainly isn't based on merit after that performance.
I could definitely see Kyle Schwarber taking him deep early on in the game, and Alec Bohm scoring a run as well. Just a few player props I like, but the over is also a play in the first five innings in my opinion. Check out what the model says above!
