Jacksonville Jaguars at Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5, 53)

Adam Burke: The game state for Jacksonville in the Wild Card Round led to an increase in scoring that I believe has inflated the total for their Divisional Round game against the Chiefs. It was a 61-point game in the Wild Card Round, but the teams only combined for 710 yards. The Chargers had two touchdown drives of under 20 yards and a one-yard field goal drive. Jacksonville faced a prevent defense early in the comeback and also scored on a two-minute drill right before the half.

Kansas City can obviously score, but the Chiefs did allow just 21.7 points per game in the regular season. These are two coaches extremely familiar with each other and familiarity often tightens up the game and can also tighten up the score. The first meeting between these two saw Kansas City rack up nearly 500 yards of offense, but only 27 points. Jacksonville didn’t move the ball well for most of the game.
