The Los Angeles Dodgers (79-34, 71-42 RL, 45-56-12 O/U) battle the Milwaukee Brewers (61-52, 46-67 RL, 55-49-9 O/U) in the second of a three-game series on Tuesday evening. The Dodgers will have Ryan Pepiot start this game. The Brewers reply with Brandon Woodruff who is targeting his 10th win of the season.
Ryan Pepiot will get the nod for the sixth time of the season. Pepiot had some trouble last time out, conceding four runs on five hits in 4.1 innings against a good Twins offense, and was able to escape with a no-decision in a game the Twins won. The rookie right-hander has fared reasonably well in his first big league action, conceding nine runs in 20.2 innings, resulting in a 3.92 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP accompanied by a 1-0 record. This marks his first career meeting against the Brewers.
Los Angeles resumes a seven-game road trip. They had their miraculous 12-game winning streak end after losing two of three against the Royals last weekend and are going to win the division yet again. They have now won five consecutive series and are a remarkable 20 games above the .500 mark on the road.
Trea Turner has accumulated another six RBIs in his last five games. The 29-year-old star now has clubbing 18 homers, and 83 RBIs accompanied by a stellar .843 OPS. Turner was dominant against the Brewers last season, going 7 for 19 with three home runs and 10 RBIs.
The Dodgers lead the big leagues with 5.40 runs per game. The pitching staff is also dominant, leading the way with a 2.90 ERA.
