The UC San Diego Tritons will travel to the Robert A. Mott Athletics Center on Thursday night in a Big West Conference matchup. The Tritons are 6-12 (1-5) so far this season and are riding a five-game losing streak after a 78-70 home loss on Monday against the UC Davis Aggies. The Mustangs are 7-11 (1-5) right now and are also r iding a five-game losing streak after coming off an 83-78 overtime road loss against the UC Riverside Highlanders on Monday. These teams also play on March 2 in San Diego so this will be an interesting matchup to look at.

The UC San Diego Tritons have been playing well, but are coming off a 78-70 home loss against the UC Davis Aggies. They were dominated in the second half as they were outscored by UC Davis 48-33. They shot the ball extremely well as they were 28-of-48 (58.3 percent) overall, 7-of-16 (43.8 percent) from the three, and 15 free-throw attempts. Junior guard Bryce Pope led the team as in 33 minutes he finished with 18 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Defensively, they struggled a bit as they allowed 50.8 percent from the floor and 30.8 from deep here. UC San Diego did extremely well as they finished with eight steals and three blocks throughout the game. 

The UC San Diego are brutal this season as they are 331st in the nation with 65.1 points per game thus far and sh ooting 42.1 percent from the floor and are averaging just 11.3 assists per game.
