The second half of the season has not been too kind for the New York Yankees. The Bronx Bombers were the favorite to win the World Series a month ago and had the best record in baseball at 64-28. Now 72-43, the Yankees (+400) are behind the AL-leading Houston Astros (+400) and trailing the NL-best Los Angeles Dodgers (+350) as favorites, accordi ng to 2022 World Series odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. The Dodgers just had a 12-game winning streak snapped on Sunday, but have the best record in baseball at 79-34.
Less than 50 games remain in the regular season, and the Wild Card chase is in full swing. The National League has three Wild Card challengers with better records than all three American League hopefuls, led by the Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies, who are all at least 12 games above .500.
The Padres have made the biggest jump in the National League from +3000 a month ago to +1800 with the blockbuster trade for Juan Soto. The now-first place Cleveland Guardians have been a major mover in the American League and odds have adjusted from +10000 to +5000. But the surprising Baltimore Or ioles are challenging for a wild card spot and the O's odds have moved from +30000 to +12000 the past month.
