Only four active NFL teams have never appeared in a Super Bowl: Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Houston Texans.
Two of those teams – the Browns and Lions – appeared in (and won) the NFL Championship – before the AFL and NFL merged for the 1966 season.
The Browns, Lions, and Jaguars, and Texans, are among 12 NFL teams that have never won a Super Bowl.
Entering the divisional round for the 2022-23 NFL playoffs, only the Jaguars are still alive among teams without a Super Bowl appearance in franchise history. The Jaguars are tied with the New York Giants for the longest odds to win the Super Bowl.
