Horizon League basketball sees Oakland make the jaunt to IUPUI on Thursday night. Oakland (7-12, 5-3) lost to Youngstown State, 85-69, at home on Saturday as +2 underdogs. IUPUI (3-16, 0-8) were destroyed at home on Saturday by Cleveland State, 89-54, as +10.5 underdogs. The Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis plays host for a 7:00 p.m. EST tip off.

The Golden Grizzlies had a season-long five-game win streak snapped their last time out, but 5-2 ATS over their last seven. For the season they are sixth in the Horizon with an average of 72.3 points per game on offense. They have shot 43.4% from the field, 32% from three and 74.5% from the free throw line, third best mark in the conference. Over their last five games the shooting has been up a tick at 44.7% overall, but the scoring down slightly with 71.6 points per game. On the defensive side they are giving up 76.4 points per game, ninth in the Horizon. Opponents have shot 46.5% from the field and 36.3% from three on them. They sit second-to-last in the conference with 30.7 rebounds per game, the 12th lowest average in the country. They do only give up 10.7 turnovers per game which is second in the Horizon and 24th in the country.

Team’s top scoring options Trey Townsend followed up a 3 0 points effort with just 10 points in their loss to Youngstown. The sophomore forward is averaging 16.6 points per game, sixth best in the Horizon, and is shooting 51.6% from the field for the year.  Over the past five games Townsend has averaged 14.2 points and has shot 50%.
