A pair of teams from the SEC take the floor looking to pick up a victory down in the Lone Star State. The Florida Gators are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Texas A&M Aggies Wednesday night. Florida earned a 73-64 home win over #20 Missouri in their previous contest Saturday, covering the line as a five-point favorite. Texas A&M clobbered South Carolina 94-53 on the road Saturday in their last game, easily covering the line as an eight-point favorite. In the all-time series between the teams, the Gators own a 9-7 advantage but the Aggies have won the last three meetings. That includes a 66-63 road victory in the first matchup this season between the teams on January 4.

Florida ran their win streak to three games as they took care of business against #20 Missouri at home in their previous game. The Gators improved to 10-7 overall and stand sixth in the conference with a 3-2 record as they look to avenge their loss to the Aggies at home two weeks ago. Against Missouri, Florida started terribly, giving up the game’s first 11 points and trailing 13-2 seven minutes into the game. The Gators regrouped to tie the score at 28 at halftime. The Gators trailed 47-45 with 11:58 to go before ripping off a 9-1 run to take a 54-48 edge with 8:13 remaining. They never let the Tigers closer than four the rest of the way. Florida shot 47.1% from the field, including 10 of 23 from three-point range, and overcame 19 turnovers in the game. Will Richard led the Gators with 18 points in the win.

The Gators are above average offensively as they are 137th in the nation i n scoring offense with an average of 74.2 points per game on the year. Florida averages 35.9 rebounds per contest and dishes out 12.2 assists per game. The Gators are good defensively, ranking 102nd by allowing 66.4 points per contest. Colin Castleton leads the team with 15 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.1 blocks a game this season. Will Richard is the only other player scoring in double figures with 10.3 points plus 4.2 rebounds per game this season. Kowacie Reeves, Kyle Lofton, Trey Bonham, Alan Fudge, Riley Kugel, Myreon Jones, Jason Jitoboh and CJ Felder are key pieces in Florida’s rotation this season for Todd Golden. Felder left the team for personal reasons Janua ry 13 and it’s unknown if he’ll return this season. Jitoboh (undisclosed) missed Saturday’s game and is questionable for this game.
