The Boston Bruins face the New York Islanders with both teams heading in opposite directions this season. The Bruins have a 34-5-4 record and with seven wins in their last 10 games, they have the best record in the Eastern Conference. The Islanders have a 23-18-4 record and with four losses in their last five games have fallen to sixth place in the Metropolitan Division. The Bruins look to remain near the top of the Eastern Conference while the Islanders look to improve in the playoff race and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Bruins are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.81 goals per game with 10 goals in the last two games. David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, and Patrice Bergeron have scored 65 goals and 72 assists to lead the top two lines but the entire offense has been great. David Krejci, Taylor Hall, and Pavel Zacha have combined for 31 goals and 61 assists while defensemen Hampus Lindholm and Charlie McAvoy have added seven goals and 47 assists from the point to put the offense over the top.

The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Bruins, allowing only 2.12 goals per game with only three goals in the last two games. Hampus Lindholm and Brandon Carlo have combined for 7.2 defensive point shares and 112 blocked shots while Charlie McAvoy, Matt Grzelcyk, and Connor Clifton have combined for 7.8 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. Moreover, goaltender Linu s Ullmark has been great in the net with a .936 save percentage and a 1.92 goals-against average on 814 shots.
