The Rice Owls and the UTSA Roadrunners will face off on Monday night inside of the UTSA Convocation Center in a Conference USA matchup. The Owls are 12-5 (3-3) thus far and are coming off an 83-82 home win on Saturday over the UTEP Miners. The Roadrunners are 7-11 (1-6) and are riding a three-game losing streak after a 72-54 road loss against the Charlotte 49ers. These programs will also face off on February 16 so this should be a good sign for things to come. 

The Rice Owls have been playing extremely well and were able to pick up an 83-82 home victory against the UTEP Miners. They were able to score as they put up 45 points in the second half of t he game. They shot the ball incredibly well too as they were 29-of-51 (56.9 percent) overall, 10-of-23 (43.5 percent) from the three, and 19 free-throw attempts. Junior guard Quincy Olivari led the team as in 40 minutes he finished with 23 points, nine rebounds, one assist, and two turnovers. Defensively, they need to show a lot of improvement as they allowed 50 percent from the floor, but only 22.2 percent from deep here. Rice did well as they finished with seven steals and one block throughout the game. 

The Rice Owls are dominating this season as they are 20th in the nation with 81.7 points per game thus far and shooting a strong 48.8 percent from the floor and are averaging 17.4 assists per game. Defensively, they are giving up 74 points per game, which is 298th in the country. They need to improve with 2.1 blocks and 6.2 steals per game thus far.
