Houston Rockets (10-32) vs. Los Angeles Lakers (19-23)
The 2022-23 NBA season goes on with a nine-game Monday card and brings this Western Conference clash from Crypto.com Arena as the Houston Rockets take on the Los Angeles Lakers at 10:30 p.m. ET.
This will be the second of back-to-back games for Los Angeles, who takes on Philadelphia on Sunday. Houston is also playing on Sunday, taking on the Los Angeles Clippers. They had lost nine straight games entering that contest. These teams have not faced each other since last season when Los Angeles took three of the four meetings.
The Houston Rockets trailed the Sacramento Kings by just three points heading into the half on Friday, but Sacramento put together a 17-point advantage in the third quarter on their way to a 139-114 victory. The loss was the ninth in a row for Houston who have also lost five straight games on the road heading into Sunday’s action. Overall, the Rockets are 4-18 on the road and are 18-23-1 ATS.
“They were making a ton of 3s in transition,” Rockets coach Stephen Silas said. “We are a help team and we’re gonna give up some, but too many.”

Sacramento was 20-40 from a three-point range of the contest and hit 54.7% of their shots overall. Opponents are hitting 36.7% of three-point attempts against the Rockets, making them 26th overall, and they are allowing 116.9 points per contest, including allowing at least 131 points in three of their last four games.
Houston was led by Jalen Green, who had 27 points off 10-21 shooting. He is out for this contest, however. The club shot 47.3% in the loss, including going 16-25 from the free-throw line. The charity stripe has not been kind to the Rockets the season who are 24th in free-throw percentage (76.2%) and they are dead last in field-goal percentage (44.4%). Kevin Porter and Jae’Sean Tate are also out.
