Philadelphia Flyers vs. Boston Bruins Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-16-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Wildcard Edition

The Philadelphia Flyers face the Boston Bruins with both teams on opposite ends of the standings this season. The Flyers have an 18-18-7 record and are near the bottom of the Metropolitan Division but have won their last three games. The Bruins have a 33-5-4 record and with seven wins in their last 10 games, they boast the best record in the Atlantic Division. Both teams look to improve in the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game should be a great one as a result.

The Flyers are having a rough season and hope the offense improves, scoring only 2.84 goals per game. Kevin Hayes and Travis Konecny have scored 34 goals and 49 assists while Joel Farabee and Scott Laughton have added 20 goals and 30 assists to the top two lines but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only five skaters have nine goals or more and opposing defenses can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.

The Flyers' defense has struggled all season, allowing 3.16 goals per game but recently, the unit has stepped up, allowing only four goals in the last three games. Travis Sanheim and Ivan Provorov have combined for 3.8 defensive point shares and 174 blocked shots while Anthony DeAngelo and Nick Seeler have combined for 3.0 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Carter Hart has been great with a .910 save percentage and a 2.91 goals-against average on 967 shots.
