Best NHL player prop bet for Sunday, 1/15

Sunday features just 3 games on the ice, but the action gets started a bit earlier than usual. Although there are few opportunities, we've still found a great spot for one skater in particular. Before we dive into our favorite play, there should certainly be consideration for New York Rangers skaters against a Montreal Canadiens team on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. However, with that comes very expensive prices. We've found better value elsewhere, so let's get into it.'

Along with our player prop, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today's action.

Josh Morrissey over 0.5 assists (-155)

Tonight features a great opportunity for Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey to make his mark in terms of his candidacy for the Norris Trophy. It's awarded to the best d-man at the end of the season, and he's currently the 5th-betting favorite. While it's a slight longshot, it's rather impressive given his name was not even on the board prior to the season. He's certainly earned the recognition, as he has 47 points through 43 games.'

While still expensive, we’re still getting a much better price on his assist prop rather than overall point prop. It's worth targeting him this way, as 39 of those 47 points have been helpers. One of which came against the Arizona Coyotes, who he'll be facing tonight. Not only that, the 'Yotes will be on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. That's great news for Morrissey, as Arizona already allows the 6th-most goals per game this season. Better yet, they've allowed the 5th-most over the last month and the 4th-most on the road. The last time the Jets were at home, they scored 7 goals. All of that adds up to a big night for Winnipeg and Morrissey specifically.'
