As mentioned, all 3 home teams are significant favorites today. Even taking all of them on the puck line doesn't give us true mega odds. Instead, we've combined one of the puck lines with a total. Both of these teams will be on the 2nd night of a back-to-back, and both will have travel involved. Therefore, we expect a sluggish start which should help lead to the lower-scoring part of this play. That hasn't been the trend for the Canucks, but the Hurricanes should do their part taking over.'
Even when they play 2 nights in a row, they have 3 very capable goaltenders. Frederik Andersen only just returned, and Antii Raanta and Pyotr Kochetkov went a combined 20-6 in his absence. Meanwhile, the Canucks have been anything but consistent this season. That should allow Carolina to take control of this game as expected. However, Carolina isn't known for lighting up the scoreboard either, and Max Pacioretty was also out last night. Overall, we're expecting a game in which both teams start out slow with the 'Canes taking control late to cover the puck line.
