The Texas State Bobcats will travel to First National Bank Arena on Thursday evening in a Sun Belt Conference matchup against the Arkansas State Red Wolves. The Bobcats are 9-8 (2-2) so far this season and are riding a two-game winning streak after a 64-58 road win on Saturday against the South Alabama Jaguars. The Red Wolves are 9-8 (1-3) right now and are coming off a 66-54 road loss aga inst the Troy Trojans on Saturday. These teams also play on February 9 in Texas so this should be a good test for these programs.

 

The Texas State Bobcats have been playing well and were able to pick up a 64-58 road victory against the South Alabama Jaguars. They dominated in the first half as they outscored South Alabama 36-21. They shot the ball decently well as they were 25-of-58 (43.1 percent) overall, 2-of-8 (25 percent) from the three, and 16 free-throw attempts. Junior forward Nate Martin led the team as in 23 minutes he finished with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Defensively, they did a decent job as they allowed 45.8 percent from the floor and 31.3 from deep here. Texas State did extremely well as they finished with nine steals throughout the game. 

The Texas State Bobcats are struggling this season as they are 325th in the nation with 65.5 points per game thus far and shooting a strong 42.6 percent from the floor and are averaging 9.8 assists per game. Defensively, they are giving up 64.8 points per game, which is 67th in the country. They need to improve with 3.7 blocks and 7.5 steals per game thus far.
