The Georgia Southern Eagles (10-7, 7-7 ATS, 7-7 O/U) meet the Appalachian State  Mountaineers (9-8, 7-7 ATS, 6-8 O/U)  in a Sun Belt clash on Thursday night. The Eagles were dealt an overtime home loss by Old Dominion last time out. The Mountaineers stunned James Madison with a road victory on Saturday. Appalachian State defeated Georgia Southern in all three meetings last season.

The Georgia Southern Eagles are looking to rebound from their first conference loss of the season. They beat a strong Marshall team 81-76 to improve to 3-0 in Sun Belt play but were two-point dogs in a narrow 81-57 overtime home loss against Old Dominion to snap a three-game winning streak. Georgia Southern was the dog in all three of their conference victories. They have covered the spread in four out of their last five games.

Andrei Savrasov has connected on at least 50% of his field goals in two of his last three games. The senior forward only scored 10 in Saturday’s loss and leads the squad with 12.9 PPG along with 6.5 RPG. Jalen Finch has collected double-digits in three out of his last four clashes. The senior guard has recorded an average of 10.4 PPG on 47% shooting. Kaden Archie has shot at least 55% in each of his last three bouts. The senior guard is third in team scoring with 10.1 PPG. 

The Eagles are ranked 213th in the country in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and are 1-4 on the road with the only road win occurring against Coastal Carolina last month. Georgia Southern has recorded over 70 points in three straight games and is scoring an average of 69.2 points on the year, ranking them 245th. They are conceding an average of 64.6 points, positioning them 62nd in DI.
