The Arizona State Sun Devils have risen from the ashes of a difficult season last year to 13 wins already and four conference wins as they attempt to return to the NCAA Tournament this season. Arizona State already has quality wins over VCU, Michigan, Creighton and, most recently, over Washington. On Sunday afternoon, the Sun Devils downed the Huskies 73-65 to pick up their fourth Pac-12 win. The 4-1 start is the team's best start in conference play through five games since going 5-0 in 1979-80. Jamiya Neal led the way with a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Devan Cambridge also had a big night with a career-high 18 points in the win.

Arizona State resurgence this year can certainly be linked to the team's defensive efforts. The Sun Devils are ranked 60th in scoring defense thus far. They have been excellent on the perimeter, with team ranked 51st in 3pt defense. On the glass, Arizona State is 12th in the country in rebounds per game. On the offensive end, ASU is 123rd in scoring offense and just 305th in 3pt shooting. They have been solid with the basketball, ranked 91st in the country in turnovers.
