Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-11-2023

Phoenix Suns (20-21) vs. Denver Nuggets (27-13)

The 2022-23 NBA season continues Wednesday, January 11, with the Phoenix Suns taking on the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference showdown at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, and the tip-off is set for 10:00 PM ET.

Phoenix meets Denver for the second time this season, and the Nuggets outlasted the Suns 128-125 as four-point home favorites on December 25. The Suns will be quite shorthanded in this one, while the Nuggets can count on all of their key players.

Tuesday’s games have been excluded from the analysis, and the 20-21 Phoenix Suns took on the Golden State Warriors to start a four-game road trip. The Suns were riding a six-game losing streak, coming off a 112-98 defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Phoenix failed to cope with the Cavs’ sturdy defense last Sunday. The Suns scored just 44 points in the second half. They finished the game with a 44.0 field goal percentage and 16 turnovers, failing to hit a 100-point mark for the fourth straight contest.

“We just stayed the course as best we could, then we got into the fourth and we just didn’t have enough to withstand their defensive pressure,” Suns coach Monty Williams said. “They kept us on our heels.”

The Suns have serious injury problems. They are without Devin Booker (groin), Cameron Johnson (knee), and Cameron Payne (foot). Chris Paul (hip) has missed the last two games, while Deandre Ayton (ankle), Landry Shamet (hip), and Torrey Craig (ankle) are all questionable to play.
