Lions beat Packers on Sunday Night Football to set NFC playoffs

The final piece of the puzzle was put into place on Sunday night after the Green Bay Packers failed to beat the Detroit Lions, sending the Seattle Seahawks to the postseason. Geno Smith will make his first career playoff start after a win over the Los Angeles Rams and some help from the Lions. The Philadelphia Eagles will enjoy a bye, as six other teams play win-or-go-home games over Wild Card Weekend.

Those odds come from DraftKings Sportsbook, as the playoff picture is set and we’ll have a new NFC champion. The Los Angeles Rams won the NFC and subsequently Super Bowl LVI, but they limped to the end of a 5-12 season with a loss that gave the Seattle Seahawks a chance to grab the final playoff spot.

The Buccaneers won the NFC South at 8-9, but neither the Bucs nor the Cowboys looked the part of a playoff team down the stretch. This will be a heavily-bet game, with a lot of people looking at Tom Brady as a home underdog in what will be his 48th playoff start. He’s 35-12 in those games and hasn’t found himself in an underdog role very often in the postseason. He does here against the conference’s top Wild Card team.
