Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas

West Virginia plays host to Kansas in a crucial Big 12 showdown on Saturday night from the WVU Coliseum. Kansas comes in looking like one of the best teams in the country yet again, while the Mountaineers have dropped two in a row heading into this one. The Jayhawks won all three meetings last season and have won eight of the last ten, though going on the road is always a challenge in the college basketball world.

Only a few days removed from a key road win against Texas Tech, the Jayhawks hit the road for another crucial Big 12 tilt. Kansas is playing some of the best basketball in the country right now and with seven wins in a row, confidence and momentum have been key. A combination of young talent and veteran experience has them looking like a Final Four contender with hopes of repeating. Conference road trips are always a challenge though and with West Virginia improved of late, it could be a challenge for them to return home with two wins from this road trip. Over the last handful of years, they've dominated this series but with youthfulness leading the way, it could be a challenge early.

It doesn't help matters that the Jayhawks have a handful of injuries that they're trying to navigate. A trio of players remains out, though with those three having barely played a role this season, it shouldn't impact the game. The injury fans will want to monitor though is that of Joseph Yesufu, who is questionable but would be a big miss from a backcourt depth perspective.

Kansas' length is bound to be the difference in this one, especially considering how it impacts both sides of the ball. Their ability to rebound and generate second-chance points will be key in this one and with Jalen Wilson quickly emerging as one of the best player in the country, there won't be an answer for him. Adding to that is one of the best point guards in the country and wings with NBA-like length. Kansas' tenacity on both sides of the ball and their ability to use their athleticism will make the difference on Saturday.
