The Minnesota Timberwolves have now won three straight games after having lost six of their last seven games. Minnesota continues to play without all-star forward Karl-Anthony Towns, who is still mending from a calf injury. On Friday night, the Wolves took down another short-handed team, the Los Angeles Clippers, 128-115. The Clippers played the game without all-star forwards Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, both out recuperating from injuries on a back-to-back. Rudy Gobert led Minnesota with a huge night, 25 points and 21 rebounds. D'Angelo Russell chipped in with 25 points of his own in the Timberwolves third straight win.

“I think overall in this stretch we’ve been decent with the rebounding,” Minnesota coach Chris Finch said. “I liked our perimeter defense — it’s been a lot better. Shot contests have been a lot better, our pursuit mentality, all that stuff.” < /p>

Minnesota has done its best to keep in the hunt with the absence of Towns but may have suffered another key injury against the Clipper. Leading scorer Anthony Edwards left the game early with an apparent hip injury. His status for this game is doubtful. The Timberwolves' 12th ranked scoring offense will be taxed without Edwards in this matchup. Minnesota is ranked 19th in 3pt shooting and just 24th in rebounding despite the presence of Gobert. On the defensive end, the Wolves are ranked 19th in scoring defense and are a dismal 28th in 3pt defense. The Wolves are sloppy with the basketball as well, ranked just 27th in turnovers.
