Oregon Ducks (8-7) vs. Utah Utes (12-4)

The 2022-23 college basketball season continues Saturday, January 7, with the Oregon Ducks taking on the Utah Utes in the Pac-12 Conference showdown at Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The tip-off is set for 7:00 PM ET. The Ducks open as 6-point road underdogs with a total of 136.0 points. Oregon shoots for its tenth straight victory over Utah, so let’s take a closer look.

The Oregon Ducks (8-7; 7-8 ATS; 2-2 conf.) started the conference play on the first day of December, defeating the Washington State Cougars 74-60 as 5.5-point home favorites. Three days later, they suffered a 65-56 defeat as 10-point road dogs at the No. 21 UCLA Bruins. Since then, the Ducks have gone 4-2 SU and 2-4 ATS including a 77-68 home win over the Oregon State Ducks and a heavy 68-41 loss at the Colorado Buffaloes.

Last Thursday, the Ducks visited the Buffaloes as small 3-point dogs and put on an embarrassing performance. They shot 26.9% from the field (1-for-14 from deep) and 57.1% from the foul line (12-for-21). Furthermore, the Ducks handed out a paltry three assists, committed 12 turnovers, and allowed ten offensive rebounds. Senior forward Quincy Guerrier had ten points and four rebounds, while senior guard Will Richardson went 1-for-9 from the field and notched five points, one assist, and four turnovers.

Oregon is No. 81 in the NCAA NET Rankings, and the Ducks are winless in four Quadrant 1 games this season. KenPom has Oregon at No. 66, and the Ducks score 107.8 points per 100 possessions (73rd in the country) while surrendering 96.1 in return (71st). Oregon makes just 6.3 triples per game (286th) on a poor 29.3 percentage clip (334th).
