The St. Louis Blues face the Montreal Canadiens with both teams looking to improve from rough starts to the season. The Blues have a 19-17-3 record but have won back-to-back games while the Canadiens have a 15-21-3 record and with a six-game losing streak have fallen to last place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams are looking to improve in their divisions and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Blues are having a rough season despite their offense stepping up and scoring 3.13 goals per game with 11 goals in the last two games. Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas, and Pavel Buchnevich have scored 41 goals and 66 assists to lead the top two lines but the entire offense has been great. Brayden Schenn, Ivan Barbashev, and Noel Acciari have combined for 23 goals and 41 assists while defenseman Justin Faulk has added six goals and 16 assists from the point to help open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has been awful, allowing 3.64 goals per game. Niko Mikkola and Justin Faulk have combined for 3.3 defensive point shares and 119 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Jordan Binnington has struggled in the net with a .894 save percentage and a 3.21 goals-against average on 87 8 shots.
