Miami will try to keep its playoff hopes alive when it hosts New York during the final week of the regular season on Sunday afternoon. The Dolphins need a win and a New England loss to make the postseason. New York is riding a five-game losing streak and has already been eliminated from playoff contention.
New York was one of the biggest surprises early in the season, winning seven of its first 11 games. The Jets recorded wins over the Packers and Bills during that stretch, turning heads around the league. They have been unable to sustain that early-season success, losing five straight games coming into Week 18. Their 23-6 loss to Seattle last week officially eliminated them from playoff contention. They have been particularly struggling on the offensive side of the field, failing to score more than 17 points in the last four games of their skid. New York’s defense has done its job though, allowing more than 20 points just once during its last four games.

They come into this game ranked fourth in the NFL defensively, which has kept them in games of late. New York has scored just four touchdowns during its losing streak and has not scored a touchdown in its last eight quarters. The Jets have cycled between Mike White and Zach Wilson at quarterback, with neither of them having much success. However, wide receiver Garrett Wilson has had one of the best rookie seasons in franchise history, setting the team rookie records with 74 receptions for 1,014 yards. He leads all rookies in both categories this season. Head coach Robert Saleh said he does not anticipate making changes to the lineups on offense or defense, opting not to use the otherwise meaningless game to give younger players an opportunity to prove themselves.
