The final week of the NFL season brings divisional matchups across the board and none may be a bigger week 18 tilt than the winner take all clash between AFC South foes down in the Sunshine State. The Tennessee Titans are on the road as they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars with the winner claiming the division title and the loser getting ready for the offseason Saturday night. Tennessee was beaten 27-13 at home by Dallas in their previous game last Thursday to suffer a sixth straight loss: they did push against the spread as a 14-point underdog. Jacksonville rolls in off a 31-3 road win over Houston, easily covering as a 3.5-point favorite last Sunday. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Titans own a 33-22 advantage but it was the Jaguars claiming a 36-22 win on the road in the first meeting this season on December 11, 2022.

Tennessee suffered their sixth straight loss as they were knocked off by Dallas on Thursday night last week. The Titans dropped to 7-9 on the season but could still take the division title with a win here. Against Dallas, Tennessee fell behind 10-0 early in the second quarter before kicking a couple field goals in the final 1:04 to trim the margin to 10-6 at the half. The Titans were within 17-13 after three quarters but went scoreless in the final stanza, sending them to defeat. Tennessee was beaten 361-317 in total offense, gave up 26 first downs while picking up 17 and lost the time of possession by a 33:24 to 26:36 margin. The Titans did force three turnovers while committing two but ended up falling short in the game.

This season, the Titans are 30th in the league in passing offense with 171.8 yards per contest and 15th in rushing offense by averaging 124 yards per game. T ennessee stands 28th in the league in scoring offense with 17.6 points per game and 15th in scoring defense by allowing 21.2 points per game. Ryan Tannehill is 212 of 325 passing for 2,536 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s fourth on the team with 98 rushing yards plus two scores though he has been sacked 33 times this season. Malik Willis is 31 of 61 passing for 276 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions while adding 123 yards plus a score on the ground. Joshua Dobbs is 20 of 39 for 232 yards with one touchdown and one interception while adding 12 yards on the ground. He will be the starting quarterback for this matchup. Derrick Henry leads the team with 319 carries for 1,429 yards and 13 scores this season. Hassan Haskins (23 carries, 90 yards) and Dontrell Hilliard (22 carries, 145 yards) are next in line. Robert Woods leads the team in the passing game with 49 receptions for 487 yards and two touchdowns this season. Austin Hooper (37 grabs, 406 yards, two TD), Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (25 catches, 397 yards, three TD), Henry (32 grabs, 379 yards), Treylon Burks (29 catches, 425 yards, TD) and Chigoziem Okonkwo (29 receptions, 408 yards, two TD) have all been counted in in the aerial assault. Randy Bullock is 27 of 27 on extra points and 14 of 17 on field goal attempts with a long of 48 this year. Caleb Shudak hit his lone extra point attempt and three of four field goal attempts with a long of 38 while Josh Lambo hit three of four extra points without attempting a field goal this season.

Tannehill (ankle) is out for the rest of the regular season after undergoing surgery last week. His status for the postseason, should Tennessee qualify, is murky at best at this point in time. Cornerback Davontae Harris (hamstring) and defensive end Tarell Basham (back) didn’t practice Tuesday or Wednesday. Burks (groin), defensive end Jeffery Simmons (ankle), tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere (a nkle), linebacker Dylan Cole (ankle), cornerback Kristian Fulton (groin) and safety Amani Hooker (knee) were all limited Wednesday. Keep an eye out for updated statuses on these players leading to kickoff.
