Charlotte opened the scoring with a goal in the first minute by Yordy Reyna and added a second goal by Karol Swiderski in the 45th minute but Charlotte gave up the winner to Chicago in the 52nd minute.
Charlotte has taken only five points from its first 12 away matches in MLS play with one win, two draws and nine losses. Charlotte has lost each of its last two away matches by a combined 7-2.
