Head coach Sonny Dykes continues to rack up bowl appearances. The current TCU Horned Frogs HC led his team to a major postseason game in 2022, and now they could end their year with a national championship.

Sonny Dykes All-Time Bowl Record

Sonny Dykes owns a 2-3 all-time record in bowl games across his time as head coach of Louisiana Tech, Cal, SMU and TCU. His first postseason appearance was with Louisiana Tech in 2011. Dykes' Bulldogs lost to TCU 31-24 in the Poinsettia Bowl that year.

Dykes finally got his first bowl win in 2015. Then at Cal, he led the Golden Bears to a 55-36 victory over Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl.

The head coach then enjoyed two bowl game trips at SMU following the 2017 and 2019 seasons, but the Mustangs fell in both the Frisco Bowl and Boca Raton Bowl.

Dykes made his postseason return with TCU in 2022. The Horned Frogs faced Michigan in the Fiesta Bowl as part of the College Football Playoff semifinal round. TCU emerged with a 51-45 win, advancing to a date with Georgia in the National Championship Game.
