Best NHL player prop bets for Tuesday, 1/3

We had just 1 player prop last night due to the small 3-game slate, but now we're back with 11 games on the board. There looks to be a fair amount of both great matchups and contests that look to be 1-sided. If you'd rather not have to sweat out a side or pay a huge price, then player props are for you. After breaking down the slate, we've found 2 incredible spots to target, so let's dive in.'

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today's action.

Matthew Tkachuk over 1.5 points (+155)

One of those aforementioned games that is set to be a landslide victory takes place in South Beach. We'd rather not pay nearly -350 for the Florida Panthers to beat the Arizona Coyotes, so we'll instead take the much better value on Tkachuk. He's been just as great as the Panthers had hoped when he came over from the Calgary Flames this offseason. His 43 points through 35 games leads the team, as does his 128 shots. He'll continue taking those chances against a Coyotes team that allows the 3rd-most shots per game.'

It also helps that Florida recently welcomed back Aleksander Barkov, who recorded a hat trick in his first game back. Tkachuk is the perfect assist-man and he and Barkov should feast tonight, especially on the power play. Arizona commits the 3rd-most penalties in the NHL, while having the 6th-worth net penalty kill percentage. This game should also bring back some great memories for Tkachuk. As a member of the Flames last season, he recorded a 4 and 2-point game the last 2 times he faced the Coyotes. He had 3 points in the Panthers recent 7-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens, a team of similar caliber to Arizona, so expect another big night for Tkachuk.
