The Chicago Bears (3-13) and their 31st-ranked run defense might struggle to slow down the Minnesota Vikings (12-4) and Dalvin Cook, one of the league’s top rushers, when the Bears host the Vikings at Soldier Field on January 8 at 1:00 PM ET.

In their last outing, the Vikings lost 41-17 to the Green Bay Packers. The Bears are coming off of a 41-10 loss to the Detroit Lions. In that matchup with the Packers, Kirk Cousins had 205 yards on 18-of-31 passing (58.1%) for the Vikes, with one touchdown and three interceptions. He also carried the ball three times for 37 yards. Alexander Mattison took eight carries for 38 yards (4.8 yards per carry), while adding one reception for seven yards in the passing game. Jalen Nailor led the receiving charge against the Packers, catching three passes for 89 yards and one touchdown. Justin Fields notched 75 passing yards while going 7-for-21 with one touchdown and one interception for the Bears against the Lions. He added 10 carries for 132 yards. Khalil Herbert carried the ball five times for 31 yards (6.2 yards per attempt). Cole Kmet caught two passes for 27 yards (13.5 yards per catch), scoring one touchdown.
