According to reports, Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins tested positive for Covid-19 today, Friday August 12, and will miss the Vikings first preseason game on Sunday.
A quarterback testing positive for Covid and missing time is always going to be a news story, but it is an even bigger deal in Cousins’ case after last years controversy with Vikings ex head coach Mike Zimmer.
Cousins came out last year as someone who would not get the vaccine, and that created strife with then head coach Zimmer.
At one point during training cam p last year, the entire Vikings quarterback room was out of practice and in covid protocols, and Cousins absence specifically was longer because he did not have the vaccine.
