Once Upon A Time in America Betting Show

The Memphis Grizzlies play host to the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday Night in a New Year's Eve showdown from the FedExForum. The Pelicans come into this one as winners of four games in a row, serving to snap the losing streak that took them into the holiday season. For the Grizzlies, a win the last time out served to snap a two-game losing streak themselves, as they will be happy to be back at home. The two teams have split a pair of meetings so far this season, though with four wins in the last five games between these two, as well as being at home, the Grizzlies will like their chances to start their own winning streak.

The Pelicans have been one of the league's best surprises this season and even after a little slowdown in play just last week, they've suddenly found themselves right back on the winning path. With their current four-game winning streak, they find themselves tied for first place in the Western Conference as 2023 is nearly underway. Being at home has been a massive advantage for this group, sitting at 15-4 on the season on homecourt and this being their third-straight home game. Not having to travel should help and with guys rounding back into form and the wins consistently coming their way again, this remains a game, even against Memphis, that they'll be confident in.

Even though they have had some players make their way back into the lineup lately, injuries do remain a concern for this group. Brandon Ingram (toe) remains out into next month, while Herb Jones (illness) is out as well. One name to keep an e ye on is Larry Nance Jr. (neck) who is doubtful for the weekend, but could surprise.

One of the most surprising pieces of New Orleans' success this season has been their balance on both ends of the court. The defense has been stout against the three and their ability to rebound well, should come in handy in this one. For as strong as the defense has been, the offense continues to lead the way. They rank third in the league in scoring and fifth in field-goal percentage, which should help them against Memphis, one of the league's best defenses. Even without Ingram, the offense has been about to move along. Zion Williamson (25.8 ppg) has looked like one of the league's most dominant players and in just his few games back he has drastically impacted how this team operates and it shouldn't come as a surprise that the wins have followed. Being a matchup nightmare for Memphis wouldn't come as a suprise either, as he should dominate in this one.
