The 2022-23 NCAA men’s basketball season continues Saturday, December 31, with the San Jose State Spartans taking on the Colorado Rams in the Mountain West Conference showdown at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colorado. 

The tip-off is set for 4:00 PM ET. The Rams open as 8.0-point home favorites, while the totals are listed at 133.5 points.    

After an embarrassing 99-58 defeat at the No. 11 Arkansas Razorbacks on December 3, the San Jose State Spartans (10-4; 9-4 ATS) have gone 4-1 SU and 5-0 ATS. Last Wednesday, they started the conference play with a surprising 75-72 overtime victory against the UNLV Rebels. Playing as 5.5-point home underdogs, the Spartans blew a 13-point second-half lead but found a way to escape with a victory. 

Junior forward Sage Tolbert scored five of his nine points in overtime, while junior guard Omari Moore finished with 15 points and seven assists. The Spartans made just 37.7% of their field goals (8-for-32 from deep) but posted 16 offensive rebounds and went 21-for-30 from the charity stripe. 

SJSU is No. 119 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 144 in the KenPom rankings. The Spartans score 104.8 points per 100 possessions (118th in the country) on 45.9% shooting from the field (131st) and surrender 103.0 points in return (187th) on 42.6% shooting from inside the arc (18th) and 34.6% from beyond the 3-point line (263rd). Their defense is dead last in the country in turnover percentage (12.3%).
