New Orleans Saints vs. Philadelphia Eagles Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-1-2023

Philadelphia can clinch the top seed in the NFC with a win against New Orleans on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles are coming off just their second loss of the season, but they are still heavy favorites to earn a playoff bye week. New Orleans still has a slim chance to make the playoffs, but it needs a perfect finish to the season and some help.

New Orleans heads into this game with a win-or-bust mentality, as it needs a win to keep its playoff hopes alive. The Saints have to win their final two games and need Tampa Bay to lose its final two games in order to make the postseason. They have been able to keep their slim hopes alive with consecutive wins over Atlanta and Cleveland this month, erasing a 10-3 deficit in their 17-10 win at Cleveland last week. Quarterback Andy Dalton finished 8 of 15 for 92 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in the win. Running back Alvin Kamara had 76 rushing yards and a touchdown while Taysom Hill had 56 yards and a score on nine carries.

The Saints have won consecutive games for the first time this season after going 3-9 in their previous 12 games. Dalton has completed 66.2% of his passes for 2,495 yards, 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions this season. Kamara has had a disappointing campaign by his standards, averaging less than four yards per carry and scoring just two touchdowns. Rookie wide receiver Chris Olave has been a bright spot for New Orleans, catching 63 passes for 940 yards and three scores. The Saints rank No. 18 in the NFL offensively, averaging 337.1 yards per game. They are facing a Philadelphia defense that is No. 2 in the league, giving up just 301.9 yards per contest.
