The UL Monroe Warhawks and the Texas State Bobcats will open up the Sun Belt Conference schedule with a game on Thursday inside of the Strahan Arena at the University Events Center. The Warhawks are 4-9 this season and are on a three-game winning streak after a 66-55 home loss last Tuesday against the Jacksonville Dolphins. The Bobca ts are 7-6 thus far after an 87-72 home win last Tuesday against the Science & Arts Academy. 

 

The UL Monroe Warhawks have been struggling and were able to pick up a 66-55 home loss against the Jacksonville Dolphins. They only scored 17 points by halftime. They shot the ball well as they were 19-of-56 (33.9 percent) overall, 5-of-25 (20 percent) from the three, and 16 free-throw attempts. Sophomore forward Thomas Howell led the team as in 34 minutes he finished with 12 points, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block. Defensively, they need to continue what they are doing as they allowed 42.9 percent from the floor and 31 from deep here. UL Monroe did well as they finished with seven steals and five blocks throughout the game. 

 

The UL Monroe Warhawks are doing decently well this season as they are 190th in the nation with 71.8 points per game thus far and shooting 43.5 percent from the floor while averaging 15.5 assists per game.
