NC A&T vs. Northeastern Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-29-2022

North Carolina A&T will be looking to snap its three-game losing streak when it travels to Northeastern on Thursday night. The Aggies have not played since last Thursday, when they came up short in an 85-76 loss to New Mexico State. Northeastern has won three of its last four games, including a win at Davidson last Wednesday.

North Carolina A&T is amid its second lengthy losing streak of the season. The Aggies opened the year with a 100-61 win over a non-Division I opponent before losing their next four straight games. They bounced back with two more wins over non-D-I teams along with a 73-56 win against UNC Greensboro at the end of November. Then-No. 5 Houston outclassed them in the middle of December, but they responded with an overtime win against Texas Southern as 3-point underdogs. North Carolina A&T has lost its three games since then, although it covered the spread in losses to Norfolk State and New Mexico State. Its other setback came by 13 points as an 8-point underdog against UTEP.

The Aggies are on a short, two-game road trip that concludes with a matchup at Hofstra on Saturday afternoon. They are hoping to correct some poor offensive play this season, as they are outside the top 240 in turnover rate, effective field goal percentage and offensive rebounding rate. Their 2-point shooting has been particularly bad, as they are knocking down just 41.5% of their attempts. They are facing a Northeastern defense that is No. 96 in defensive field goal percentage. Sophomore guard Kam Woods leads North Carolina A&T with 17.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. Junior forward Marcus Watson (14.0) and senior guard Demetric Horton (12.8) have both been key contributors as well.
