The Minnesota Timberwolves (16-17, 13-20 ATS, 14-19 O/U) battle the Miami Heat (16-17, 10-21-2 ATS, 16-17 O/U) in an inter-conference bout on Sunday evening. The Timberwolves dropped a road decision to the Celtics on Friday. The Heat was issued a home loss by the Pacers on Friday. Minnesota earned a 105-101 home win in the first meeting last month.

The Minnesota Timberwolves continue a four-game road trek. Minnesota opened the trip with a 121-109 loss to the Celtics on Friday in a bout that the Timberwolves labeled as 9.5-point dogs. Minnesota had recently won three in a row including a 116-106 win against the Mavericks but have since lost back-to-back games. They have covered the spread in one out of their last three clashes. 

Anthony Edwards continues to produce. The 21-year-old shooting guard has eclipsed 30 points in two out of his last four games and is sporting an average of 23.2 PPG and 6 RPG. Edwards scored 22 points against the Heat last month. D’Angelo Russell scored 21 points in Friday’s defeat. The 26-year-old point guard is having his best month of the season, posting an average of 22 points in December and 16.6 PPG on the season. Jaylen Nowell has scored double digits in two out of his last three clashes. The 23-year-old has filed an average of 11.5 PPG. Karl Anthony Towns remains out of action. 

The Timberwolves have struggled on the road, winning just one out of their last five games with the only victory coming in Oklahoma City. They stand at 5-5 in their last ten bouts. Minnesota is scoring an average of 114.8 points, ranking them 11th. They are conceding an average of 115.7 points, pegging them 22nd in the NBA.
